Protect your data from the Dark Web

The pandemic has affected every corner of the world, even the Dark Web. There are 4.5 billion of ‘surface’ internet pages. Multiply that by about 400, that’s how large the dark web is estimated to be. We’re talking over 75,000 terabytes of data, with Approx 2 million active hits per day and these user numbers are growing day by day.
With a 738% increase in COVID-19 related terms on the Dark Web (March 2020) and COVID related phishing attacks soared up by 667% the cybercriminals are into big business. These aren’t basement hackers, we’re talking best in class, and the advertised employee benefits, quarterly and annual bonus schemes shows this.
So how can you protect yourself, employees, company and customer data from the cybercriminals? Here are three actions to keep one step ahead of the cybercriminals and your data out of the dark web:
      1. Get someone to watch your back – Mollis Group goes into the Dark Web, so you don’t have to. We’ll tell you if your data is for sale and let you know if you’ve ever been exposed in a third-party data breach. We’ll monitor your domain(s) deep into the murky corners of the dark web, and alert you quickly so you can prevent a cybersecurity incident from snowballing into a cyber disaster.
      2. Backup everything!  – Data is everything to a business, but sadly the risks and threats to protection, privacy and usability of that data are endless. Mollis builds bespoke solutions on the secure Google Cloud Platform. Still, we also take comfort in knowing that by also offering our clients backup with Asigra, their customer’s data is protected further by using an independent backup solution that is FIPS 140-2 accredited. And with the next-gen of ransomware patiently waiting to reignite and re-encrypt, our partnership with Asigra allows us to share the benefits of Attack-Loop.
      3. Dial-up your security awareness training – People are easy targets, so it’s essential to train your team on the latest trends and tricks that hackers are using and build a human wall of defence. This way, they’ll recognise dicey messages when they land in their Inbox.
